First new post in forever! Let me direct you to my new forum. It's provided by the good people at Dumbrella. It's a collective of tasty webcomics made by guys who are cool cats who are slick with all the chicks. Check 'em out!

Also, ACID KEG is Webcomic of the week on Steve Ince's blog. Go check him out and also check out his strip Juniper Crescent, which is well worth making your comic of the week whichever week you are in.

As the work week winds down, a new week begins for ACID KEG. As a new reward/incentive for people who click the Buzzcomix vote button, I've created loopy characters called "Keg Kooks". Each day, a new one will appear right after you click the vote button. Think of it in the same tradition as Freakies, Funny Faces and all those other marketing mutants. The site will tell you if that day's kook is up.

I'm doing a banner swap for two week's with Reality Glitch. It was generous of Zeb to offer, considering he gets about four times as much traffic as I do. Show him a return on his investment and go check out his crazy creation.

Went away to my wife's Aunt & Uncle's place in NH over the weekend and now I'm back. New Hampshire and Vermont always look like the same state flipped and squashed together. Either way, it's been FREEZING in both. Regular trips to the wood pile and slippery sloshy roads are in my future.

Shout out to Michele from Small Victory for using my site to test out blogads. Seemed to work well on my end! Also thanks to at Ben of Walking Is Still Honest for recent hype. It's good to see that people from both sides of the political coin can enjoy weird strips about freaky crap. VOTE FOR WEIRD IN 2004 AMERICA.

My guest strip for Fifty and Halifax went up today. As comedy teams go, you can't get much more unique than the pairing of a six legged spidery purple insect and a tree stump/lizard hybrid. Great fun and highly disturbing. If you're not familiar with the strip, go back and read the archives first, or you will be irretrievably lost and no one will be able to find you again.

And if you're unfamiliar with Fifty and Halifax, that probably means you haven't been checking out my Other Weirdos link page. Tsk! You're missing out on all kinds of cutting edge hijinx...like today's additions Mellonballer and Routine. Both sites would like very much to screw with your mind, so won't you be a doll and play ball?

How ironic that California is burning and Vermont has flood warnings in effect. (Thankfully I live about a mile away and many feet above the lake line, so if you see my house go under start herding the animals in twos.) To bad we can't work out a trade.

Friday catch up day....

Been a crazy busy week. I had the unexpected windfall of some freelancing work for a local event marketing company which was good for my pocketbook but not for my schedule. Hence yesterday's Acid Keg was delayed until later in the day, necessitating a temporary word from my sponsor.

Terry at ilovecartoons.com updated his site with new takes on old saturday cartoon characters from contemporary cartoonists (Including my version of Josie.) It's humbling to be included with so many top drawer cartoonists and the guy has a great thing going. Now if only someone would start a site reinterpreting classic breakfast cereal characters....

Heads up to some great other webcomics that have been very supportive of this site: Juniper Crescent, Walking Is Still Honest and Squaresville. All fine strips that deserve your clickety clicks. Also, Eric Toffey's Worst Comic Ever website has had a rad design makeover, which shows why he was one of the guiding guys in setting up the Pig Entrails site.

A tip of the hat to Frank at Grand Hour for the mention in this weeks webcomic roundup. The funny thing is that after I finished this week's strip, I saw the Calvin and Hobbesishness too. I think panel three is to blame. Good thing I left out the bit with the transmorgifier.

Made it up to 232 on the Buzzcomics list. The Top 100 awaits! Let's prove that my fans can kick the other strips fans' asses. GRAAR.

Posted a new Acid Keg strip today. Thanks to everyone who has voted. I've made it into the top 100 "Weird" comics and the top 300 comics overall. It's going to be a long hard fight, but with courage, determination and lots of people making clicky clicky on the orange button, I shall perservere.

One of the pleasant suprises coming back was finding my comp copies of LEGAL ACTION COMICS 2 sitting in the mailbox. Even if I didn't have an opinion on Rall VS Hellman and I hadn't contributed one of the 292 pages, I would still endorse the fuck out of this thing. If anything good has come out of this stupid lawsuit, it's "Dirty" Danny Hellman using it as an excuse to create a mutant stepchild of RAW and WEIRDO. It's got the format and experimentalism of the former mixed with the lowbrow hyucks of the latter. It's a great antidote for the clumsy preciousness that infects way too many alt comics anthologies these days. It's worth it for the Hellman/Johnny Ryan email war (As illustrated by Sam Henderson) alone. It's currently available in advance on eBay.

Michelle at a Small Victory complains that I don't update my blog and I mess with mental health. All true! I am overtired from a moonlighting on X Games proposals and tour artwork. This explains why I am raiding my back catalog and being a big plotz. I feel like Ren when he and Stimpy joined the army. "No...BED! NO...Sleep! Now now now! Bed bed bed!" I am over the hump now though and am blissfully ethering out like a Galaxie 500 song.

I'm going to a wedding in Virginia tomorrow. Must remember to stock up on

A thank you to Michelle of A Small Victory for wielding her sword of linkage towards the call for universal acceptance of ACID KEG. It's always nice to be included in a wish to better mankind, and that update reminds me of the Coke commercial that was my favorite song as a pre-schooler. (It really was and I don't mean it in a bad way.)

It's another weekend of drawing like crazy to pay for the paintjob on my house. My wife is at a bachelorette party so I'm spending the evening drawing my version of Josie and the Pussycats, watching Samurai Jack and Guy Maddin's Twilight of the Ice Nymphs and drinking orange Stoli. It's everything my parents could ever have hoped for!

I should take a moment to mention the PIGENTRAILS site. It's a collective of various webcartoonists who do "Random' comics. I'm still not entirely clear what that means (I think it's a mix of surealism, non sequiters and/or just plain weirdness.) but they've been nice enough to include ACID KEG under that umbrella. It's an interesting mix of absurdity and piggy grue. If you scroll to the bottom and click "fusion" you can see the jam strip I contributed to.

It's tuesday and a new strip is up!

Top Webcomics is still on the fritz. I was down in the mid 60's just before. (If it's up when you read this...VOOOOOTE!) On another note, yesterday I did make it to #10 in Google ranking for searches on the word "Keg" though. (Currently #17) So a big shout out to all the confused fraternity brothers who are reading this!

Speaking of voting, I should note that Jim Treacher is in the running for the title of 2003 Drama Queen of the Blogospheriverse. I'm not sure he qualifies against all the stiff competition, but it would be cool to see him in a tiara.

Okay, today's ACID KEG is sketchbook cobblings. Why this innovative gesture you might ask? No time this weekend! Spent most of it working on a cover for this week's Seven Days. (A good chunk yesterday overcoming email snafus trying to deliver the piece.) I swear, I need to hire that peasant kid from the end of THE CHRISTMAS CAROL to hand deliver stuff for me.

Of well, back to normal...except for Uncle Gabby getting the "Queer Eye For A Straight Guy" treatment. This one's right up there with Artie Lange from the Howard Stern show's nod.

YOU KNOW THE VIDEO GAME WEBCOMIC THING IS OUT OF HAND WHEN:

On a webcomic message board someone was talking about doing yet another Final Fantasy sprite comic. I jokingly suggested that they try PONG instead for the easy to draw visuals and infinite story possibilities. The responses suggested that not only was I being taken seriously, but the concept was all played out! I hereby suggest that the new bold frontier of webcomics is gags based on business applications. Take some screen shots of old LOTUS 1-2-3 spreadsheets and add word balloons. "Hey man, ever notice how orange is like 65% of this pie chart? WHAZZUP WIT DAT?" You'll be cutting edge and never go near a pencil sharpener! Honest!

It's back! Let the bells ring out and the banners fly! It's too good to be true but it's baaaaack!

Yes the weblog is back. The strip seems to be picking up steam and I have a better idea of what to do with it's part of the site. This means I hopefully will have more to talk about than my wishes for you all to buy me a boat. Not that you shouldn't buy me a boat, as that would be a very pleasant thing for you to do.

Once again Jim Treacher has entertained/appalled the masses with his contribution to ACID KEG. Frank Smith gives it a nod in this week's webcomic roundup (Making note of the loopy monster flame thread that resulted from Jim's last appearance and temporarily killed Comicon's server.) and Ken Layne comments "Everything about this comic strip is deeply wrong. So go look at it! " . I agree strongly with Ken on both points.
